The calendar may say December, but the Armonk Players are out to convince us its ‘Midsummer.”
The group presents one of Shakespeare’s most accessible works — “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” — set among the world of fairies and forests and lovers and one donkey-headed fool.
Christine DiTota directs, assited by Joy Arzaga with musical arranging by Michelle DeAngelis and musical staging by Christine Gavin.
You gotta love a community theater that tries its hand at Shakespeare and it sounds like DiTota is putting her own stamp on the play, setting it in our time just outside Vegas.
Sounds like a wild ride, a perfect way to wind down after a rough week at work or a day filled with Christmas shopping.
Performances are at 8 p.m., Dec. 6, 11, 12, 13; at 4 p.m., Dec. 7; and at 2 p.m., Dec. 14. At Whippoorwill Hall, 19 Whippoorwill Road East, Armonk. Enter at Kent Place.
