‘Guys and Dolls,’ ‘Sound of Music’ to follow ‘In the Heights’
Bob Funking and Bill Stutler, the men behind nearly 40 years of song and dance at Westchester Broadway Theatre, are going traditional in 2013.
Having begun the year with the final weeks of “Fiddler on the Roof,” Funking and Stutler will lend the stage of the Elmsford dinner theater to John Fanelli’s Standing Ovation Studios and a regional premiere of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony-winning musical “In the Heights.”
“In the Heights” opens Feb. 7, the same week that Funking and Stutler will be at NYC auditions for the mainstage shows that will follow: “Guys and Dolls,” directed by Richard Stafford, to run March 21 to May 26; and “The Sound of Music,’ directed by Jonathan Stahl, to run May 30 to Aug. 4.
Those two family-friendly favorites of the musical-theater canon will take the dinner theater more than half way through 2013.
