Mamaroneck’s singing superstar—“XFactor” runner-up Carly Rose Sonenclar—has been home for weeks, but her village will welcome her home officially (after she finishes eighth-grade midterms next week), with a parade on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 2:30 p.m.
Mayor Norman Rosenblum confirms that 13-year-old Sonenclar will lead the parade down Mamaroneck Avenue from Columbus Park to Prospect Street, to a reviewing stand across from Molly Spillane’s.
Once there, she’ll watch the bands and marchers from the reviewing stand.
The parade will start at 2:30 p.m. and should wrap up by 4:30 p.m.
A little bird tells me not to expect Carly to sing, though. She’ll thank her hometown for all the support, but a song is not in the cards.
Want to join the parade? It’s not too late to add your group to her fan base, dubbed “Carly’s Angels.” Email the mayor at email@example.com to add your group to the party.
