Partnership promises to counter winter’s lash

[1]What better way to usher in winter’s chill than by the ultimate counter-programming?

Fort Hill Players will present Red Monkey Theater Group’s production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on Jan. 18.

It’s a partnership between a long-standing community theater and a group that is establishing itself as a company presenting thought-provoking works with innovative staging.

Red Monkey’s director Tal Aviezer says audiences can expect some very modern and irreverent comic surprises in this production – and will most certainly recognize themselves in Shakespeare’s delightful characters.

The cast features Stacey Cabezas, Craig Campanaro, Rasha Clark, Denny Desmarais, Sandra Ehrlich, Clemmie Evans, Ed Friedman, Mario Fuentes, Sean M. Grady, Peter Green, Jillian H. Greenstein, Rebekah Madebach, Lawrence J. Reina and Lisa Spielman.

8 p.m. Jan. 18, Rochambeau School, 228 Fisher Ave, White Plains. $18, $15 seniors and high school students, $10 children younger than 12. www.forthillplayers.com. 914-946-5143.
