Harrison’s Sophia Gennusa will share role

[1]Just announced today that the much-anticipated Broadway production of “Matilda” will alternate the demanding lead role among four young actresses, one of whom is from Westchester.

Sophia Gennusa, 9, from Harrison, is a veteran of Purchase College’s famed “Nutcracker.” (That’s her, inset, when she was 7.)

She’ll share the role—a girl whose parents are bad, but not as bad as her headmistress—with  Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro. All are making their Broadway debuts in the musical based on Roald Dahl’s story.

Performances begin March 4 and the show opens on April 11, 2013, at the Shubert Theater. Details at www.matildathemusical.com.
