Superstorm Sandy, it turns out, is even more powerful than a teen-age wizard.
The storm has forced Brewster High School to postpone to next weekend its fall play, “Mary Potter and the Race to Nowhere,” which was to run this weekend. Performances will be 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 at the Brewster Performing Arts Center
Those with tickets who wish a refumore->nd should email Andrea Perdicho at APerdicho@Brewsterschools.org, but if you can still make it, previously purchased tickets will be honored at either show next weekend. And tickets are still available here.
Here’s a synopsis, for those on the fence about going: “What happens when a young wizard’s destiny runs right into her love life? Mary Potter is the girl who lived. As she comes back to school, Mary finds out things have changed. Not only does no one believe the rumors about evil Lord Walmart’s return, but her boyfriend dumps her, the new French girl tries to usurp her social status, and the Magic Ministry establishes a new wizarding educational directive – “No Wizard Left Behind”. Mary finds herself in the worst situation of all, she has fallen in love with her mortal enemy. Mary has to choose. Should she fulfill her destiny as the savior of all wizards, or should she protect her heart?”
Brewster PAC is at 50 Foggintown Road, Brewster.
