I saw and loved the first season of “Submissions Only,” the wickedly funny and smart look at the life of a New York actress (Kate Wetherhead) and her casting-director friend (Colin Hanlon), but for some reason missed season 2, which is on www.broadwayworld.com.
Monsey native Anne L. Nathan — who is now knocking them dead in “Once” — is featured in season 1 and appears, triumphant, in season 2, along with a growing list of stars: Danny Burstein, Rebecca Luker, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jeremy Jordan, Rick Elice and Beth Leavel, Roger Rees and Harvey Fierstein, among others.
I write about it now — and recommend it highly — because I chatted the other day with Eastchester’s Jeff Croiter, who’s nominated for best lighting design for a play for his work on “Peter and the Starcatcher.” (Read the story about a remarkable coincidence here.)
Jeff mentioned that he is one of several producers of the webshow, which was created, written and directed by his wife, Kate Wetherhead, and Andrew Keenan-Bolger.
Check it out. If you’re into theater at all — and why would you read this blog if you weren’t? — you’ll get a kick out of it.
