OK, made it! Don Bosco is doing their “Jekyll & Hyde” rehearsal — lots of Frank Wildhorn music — while other schools wait and watch. I saw the Stepinac masterminds Portanova and Sunderland, all in readiness for a big night. The folks at the Paramount couldn’t be more accommodating. What a pleasure. Trying to line up some interviews for the pre-show chats. Should be fun.
Next up at rehearsal is Pleasantville’s “Wizard of Oz,” with nominee Kathryn Faughnan, who won for best actress last year. Don’t know that I know of anyone repeating as winner at the Metros.
Spoke with nominee Emily Schlotman, the White Plains High School senior who is up for leading actress for Stepinac’s “Beauty and the Beast.”
Just heard Faughnan say: “I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore….” She’s carrying a real live dog!
