At last night’s press opening of “Sugar” at Westchester Broadway Theater, the Bob Fitzsimmons Scholarship was awarded to Douglas Daniels, who blogged for us at mymusical.lohudblogs.com. I saw Doug’s performance in Stepinac’s top-flight production of “The Drowsy Chaperone” and enjoyed reading his blog posts. Nice to see him honored, with a $1,000 scholarship.
Sad to hear that George Puello, a Westchester theater fixture who always graced WBT press nights in his white suit, has been hospitalized at Westchester Medical Center after suffering a stroke earlier in the week. Thoughts and prayers go out to George for a speedy recovery. If any of George’s friends would post an update, I’m sure we’d love to hear it.
As for “Sugar,” I’m writing the review now. Stay tuned.
