Susi Cummings, Putnam Valley High School’s theater manager extraordinaire, sent along the following details about this weekend’s PVHS production of “Crazy for You,” the all-Gershwin musical.
Putnam Valley High School TheatreWorks is proud to present the Broadway musical hit, “Crazy For You.” Performances will be Friday, April 23rd and Saturday, April 24th at 8 p.m., and Sunday, April 25th, at 2 p.m., at the Putnam Valley High School Performing Arts Center, 146 Peekskill Hollow Road, in Putnam Valley. All tickets are $5 each. Ticket reservations can be made by calling the Performing Arts Center at 845-526-7847, extension 1369. Limited seating will be available at the door before each performance.
Bobby Child, the son of a well-to-do New York banking family (and also a talented song-and-dance man), is sent by his mother to foreclose the Gaiety Theatre in Deadrock, Nevada. Once there, he meets and falls in love with Polly, the daughter of the theatre’s owner, and becomes involved in a scheme to save the day by putting on a magnificent show. Along the way we encounter the sleepily happy, rural, Western residents of Deadrock; we witness dancing/singing performances by classy, Broadway showgirls; we laugh at the follies brought about by mistaken identities; and we cheer on Bobby in his pursuit to perform – and to fall in love!
