Fund-raiser of Paramount importance

October
7

It’s not often that you get the chance to help a friend earn $5,000.

The Paramount Center for the Arts just received a challenge grant from ArtsWestchester. If you know public radio, you understand how challenge grants work. They’ll match contributions up to a certain amount, in this case $5,000.

ArtsWestchester will match any new or increased gift to the Paramount between now and Nov. 30. If you give them $100, the challenge grant turns it into $200.

According to a note from Paramount board president Teri Waivada, gifts “will directly support our community outreach with free or reduced tickets for our Family Series, our arts in education efforts, and high quality cultural programming with something for everyone – from country to classical and everything in-between.”

Paramount — a lovingly restored moviehouse in Peekskill that hosts an array of music, theater and film throughout the year — has already received $1,000 towards this match.

If you’d like more information, contact Pat Braja, deputy director, at 914-739-2333. ext. 40
