The busy summer at the Port Chester Council for the Arts continues. They’ve already presented “Urinetown” and “The Wiz.” This weekend, it’s “Disney’s High School Musical—One Act Edition.”

Here’s a note from the PCCFA:

The Port Chester Council for the Arts, in cooperation with the Port Chester Recreation Department, proudly presents Disney’s High School Musical—One Act Edition, the stage version of the smash hit Disney Channel musical July 31 and August 1 at 8 PM at the Dunn Performing Arts Center at Rye Country Day School. Kelly Budde directs this children’s theatre production. Cindy Moore is musical director.

$12; $10 for seniors and children under 12. 914-939-3183. Rye Country Day School is located at Cedar Street, Rye.

Port Chester resident Kelly Budde has served as director of the children’s summer theatre productions for the Port Chester Council for the Arts since 2001. Her credits include Honk!, Cinderella Shakespeare, Peter Pan, The Wiz, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Annie Jr., Charlie’s Gang and The Wizard of Oz. She first appeared onstage in the Council’s children’s summer theatre productions and, in addition to her role as director, continues to perform in adult theatre with the Council. She is also director of the Creative Theater Workshop program with Westco Productions.

The remaining production in the PCCFA’s summer theatre season is Twelfth Night, August 13-15 presented outdoors in Port Chester’s Lyon Park.
