Auditions: Brewster one-acts

March

Here’s an audition notice from Brewster Theater Company.

The Brewster Theater Company, Inc. announces April 18 auditions for its annual ‘Evening of One-Acts’ scheduled for June 2009.

“Affairs of the Heart” will be the subject of several one-act plays and teen monologues, some by local playwrights, to be presented at The Brewster Theater Company’s sixth annual Evening of One-Acts.

Conflict, humor and tenderness reach across the generations in this wide array of pieces, offering roles for actors of all ages. With a compressed rehearsal cycle and short, manageable roles, this is a perfect opportunity for experienced actors with limited time to ‘keep their hand in’ or for new actors who just want to ‘get their feet wet’.

Audition Details
Dates: April 18
Times:  2 – 4 PM
Location: Brewster Public Library, Main Street, Brewster
Cast: Teens as well as men and women ages 25-50.
Readings will be done from material that is provided.  See www.brewstertheatercompany.org for additional audition preparation information.  Please note that there are multiple directors for this show and each one-act will have a separate audition going on simultaneously.  Plan to stay at auditions for an extended period of time in order to audition for multiple pieces.

Performances
“Affairs of the Heart: An Evening of One Acts” is scheduled to be performed on June 5 at 8 pm and June 6 at 2pm and 8 pm at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Brewster.

For further information including one-act descriptions and audition preparation, go to www.brewstertheatercompany.org, send e-mail to jdarby@brewstertheater.org or leave a message at: 845- 598-1621.

This event is made possible in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program, administered in Putnam County by the Putnam Arts Council.
