We are pleased to tell you about a very special series sponsored by The Armonk Players’ benefactor, Friends of the North Castle Public Libarry, Inc., and taking place at the North Castle Public Library in conjunction with the Aquila Theatre Company as part of a National Endowment for the Humanities grant. Page+Stage is a four-part program examining the process of bringing a classic work (“The Iliad”) to performance. Actors should take special note that on April 26, Aquila will hold an acting workshop that will be followed by a performance of “The Iliad.” There is also a lecture and reading group sessions with NYU scholar Peter Meineck.
Best of all, everything is FREE! Here are some details on the April 26 event:
April 26, Sunday
3:30 – 4:30 PM – An Acting Master Class with Aquila Theatre Company actors on the Whippoorwill Hall Stage (open to all) using Shakespeare’s “Comedy of Errors” to demonstrate the theme of “Know Thyself: Issues of Identity”, which will be discussed later in the year. Participate with actors on stage or watch from the audience,
5:00 PM – A free performance of The Iliad by the Aquila Theatre Company. An exciting production with members of the NYC company. Refreshments provided bewteen the Master Class and performance.

Sunday May 3 at 1:00 pm: Special screening of “I am Legend” starring Will Smith, based on the Iliad. Peter will discuss his work as a consultant on the film.
Reading Groups and Screening will culminate in A FREE Acting Workshop and Performance of “The ILIAD”
with the Broadway stage actors of the Aquila Theatre Companyin Whippoorwill Hall, Sunday, April 26
