Don’t die, Scott Galina…

May
15

Apparently, the posting about the high-school theater awards has some kids a bit on edge. I heard from Danielle Rudess that the nominations might not be released till over the weekend, but as soon as I get them, they’ll be right here, so keep checking back. But, really, you have to go to class, Scott, and study hard.

To be honest, though, the high-school theater awards are a few of my favorite things.

I saw an incredibly inventive production of “West Side Story” at Antrim Playhouse in Suffern last night. Those people know how to put on a show. Really, really impressive stuff.

Scott isn’t the only one dying of anticipation. Here at Rye Neck all of the kids are biting their nails in anticipation of the nomiations! Good luck to everyone!

I can only imagine how anxious Scott must be! We did a show together a few summers ago.
Has there been any talk regarding the super-conflict on June 10? The Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards are that night as well, and it’s causing some serious anxiety in Bergen County, NJ.

These Helen Hayes awards are a joke. I judged them once several years ago and can tell you that the night I went to a particular show one of the other judges was also there and FELL ASLEEP during the show. At another show one of the judges left at intermission. I hate that these kids get so wrapped up in a competition that isn’t even judged fairly.
