The Mark Brent Dolinsky Memorial Foundation announces an all-Westchester teen talent showcase, “The Mark Show,” to be held on April 12, 2008.
Tickets for the event — subtitled “Where Teens Get to SHOW Their Stuff” — are on sale on the charity’s Web site: www.dolinskyfoundation.org.
That’s where you can also find out how you can be part of The Mark Show — which will include singers, dancers, comedians, a capella groups, bands, etc.
Performers can be individual teens or groups of teens. Get more details at www.dolinskyfoundation.org/FAQs.php.
The audience will be the judges, as teens compete for cash prizes of $500, $250, and $100.
The Mark Show came from White Plains High School’s popular event The Jiggy Showcase. But that was just for White Plains High. This event extends the fun to teens across Westchester.
They’re still looking for acts and for volunteers to help. (Visit www.dolinskyfoundation.org or the Facebook event profile at www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=8326688239.)
The Mark Brent Dolinsky Memorial Foundation was established by the Dolinsky family after the tragic death of their 15 ½ year old son, Mark. It has become a living memorial to Mark, whose organs were donated to needy recipients at the time of his death.
As it has since 1981, the foundation gives grants to worthy projects and programs benefiting Westchester teenagers. It has awarded more than $275,000 and touched more than 4,000 lives since its inception. (For more details regarding eligiblity for grants, please visit www.dolinskyfoundation.org/Funding_Application.php.)
Sounds like a great way for kids across the Lower Hudson Valley to connect for a good cause. And one of the acts has some mad yo-yo skills!
