MTV announced yesterday it will pull back the curtain on the Broadway hit “Legally Blonde: The Musical” and show behind-the-scenes goings-on at the Palace Theatre, including interviews with the cast.
That’s pretty cool, but it gets even cooler.
The special will culminate in the airing of THE ENTIRE BROADWAY SHOW.
These producers, including Bedford’s Dori Berinstein, are really going after the younger audiences full throttle. Wow!
“Legally Blonde The Musical premieres Saturday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. and will subsequently air several times.

I stopped by Westchester Broadway Theatre today to chat with founders Bill Stutler and Bob Funking — and director Tom Polum — about the upcoming production of “Phantom.” It’s not the Lloyd Webber “Phantom of the Opera,” the sung-through opera piece that is Broadway’s longest-running show. It’s the Maury Yeston-Arthur Kopit version of the same story, which ran for an unheard-of nine months at the dinner theater — from July 16, 1992 to April 11, 1993 — and then for another 19 weeks — from Sept. 12, 1996 to Jan. 18, 1997.
The latest revival will once again be directed by Polum and will star Kate Rockwell — “Serious Sandy” from the TV show “Grease, You’re the One That I Want” — as Christine and Aaron Ramey as The Phantom, a role that belonged to Bob Cuccioli.
While contractual limitations forbid him from mentioning it by name, Stutler handed me a flyer that lists the dinner theater’s new schedule and includes “Beauty and the Beast” opening April 24, 2008 and “The Tony Award Winning Mel Brooks Musical Hit” coming to the WBT on Aug. 7, 2008.
Hmmmm…..
Tony Award Winning Mel Brooks Musical Hit….
What could it be…….
